SNAP Childcare
SNAP Childcare (Established 2001) is a specialist nanny agency providing nannies just for babies, children and young adults with additional needs (and their siblings!). This includes children with mild learning difficulties such as dyslexia, physical disabilities, complex medical needs and severe learning disabilities. We also help families in difficult domestic situations such as death or injury of a parent. We offer our services throughout the UK and abroad. As well as the usual expectations in terms of mainstream experience and qualifications, our nannies all have experience with children who have additional needs. They often possess additional training/qualifications and most importantly, the desire to work in this area. Experience includes Makaton and BSL signing, Conductive Education, tube feeding, suctioning and behaviour modification programmes as well as speech, occupational and physiotherapy.
All recruiters have extensive experience, knowledge and understanding of the issues surrounding special needs. We try to meet all families whenever possible. Because the children we help are potentially very vulnerable (many are non-verbal), we are very careful about who is registered with us. We appreciate this can be demanding work, both physically and emotionally, so we offer on-going support to our nannies. SNAP has an online quarterly newsletter. SNAP's office is based in London, but we are happy to help families in all areas (excluding Scotland and the USA due to legislative/visa restrictions).
