Nanny Contracts

Just because you are employed by an individual in their home doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t have a nanny contract. On the contrary, a contract/work agreement should be drawn up and signed by both parties within the first eight weeks of employment. It not only confirms the professionalism of a nanny, it also offers a written routine and clear guideline of the employer’s expectations. For this reason, your nanny contract must contain certain basic terms and conditions of the nanny job. That said there is no reason why this should be an uncomfortable and overly formal procedure. A nanny’s relationship with a family can be just as warm even if there is a signed nanny contract that protects all parties.

If you’re unsure about anything official, don’t hesitate to ask your nanny agency, because their purpose is to help you.
