Nanny CRB Disclosures – The UK Criminal Records BureauWe encourage all parents to ensure that their nanny hold a recent Enhanced CRB Disclosure (within the last year) from the UK Criminal Records Bureau. Many equate this with a police check, but an Enhanced CRB Disclosure is significantly more thorough – the highest level of security. An Enhanced CRB Disclosure on a 'nanny' checks the following: - Whether 'nanny' has been banned from working with children in a childcare role. If so, their name appears on the Protection of Children Act’s list. - Whether 'nanny' has been convicted of any offences. - Whether 'nanny' appears on what is formerly known as ‘List 99’. It is more recently referred to as Section 142 of the Education Act 2002. Most nanny agencies are able to process an Enhanced CRB Disclosure for your nanny. The disclosure can run up to ?0 in cost. The processing takes anywhere from six to eight weeks, but can sometimes take as little as two or three. Click here for details on recommended nanny agencies in your area. All our recommended nanny agencies have confirmed that they conform to our strict nanny welfare and child welfare Code of Practise.
